Below is a selection of websites that will bring you to fun games to practice your skills and learn new things. Although these sites are all for kids, make sure you ask your families before going onto any website and practice safe Internet use. You can also use these websites during Choice Time in class. CommonLit

CommonLit is an amazing website with narrative texts to read. These texts are short stories. There are quizzes you can take if you want to test your knowledge when done! Usually, a teacher assigns a text, so to get to this website on your own, you need to click Library in the top left corner. Then you can browse different texts that interest you.

ReadWorks

ReadWorks is a website with multiple literary and informational texts. Texts are written for multiple grade levels. Students need a log-in that they usually get through their teaching using their school Google account.

Dreambox

Our school sponsors a math program called Dreambox. All students have a username and password they use at school to access the site. This program is a perfect way for students to do "just-right" learning at school and home!

Time for Kids

Brush up on your current events! Read about events in science, sports, entertainment and others in a kid-friendly way.

Climate Kids

Learn more about science topics such as air, oceans, fresh water, carbon's travels, and energy. There are also games!

Hispanic American Heritage

Click the photo to learn about the Hispanic culture, famous Hispanic people, and Latino history.

African American Heritage

Learn about African American history (Black History) through this mini-website apart of Scholastic. Read about Rosa Parks, the history of music, the Tuskegee Airmen, and many other people and events.

Free Rice Game

Through this website, you can help feed people in need! As you answer reading, writing, and language questions and get them right, the organization donates rice (a basic food to most people) to those in need. You can also change the subject at the top and answer chemistry, math, and other subject questions. Help yourself learn while helping others!

Hooda Math

Hooda math is a website of math games of various math skills. Check it out if you want a review with a game!

Newsela

Newsela is a current event children website. The staff take news articles and revise the text to fit the needs of students of various levels. The content stays the same. There are also historical, scientific, and political articles too. Spanish is also an option! Usually, a teacher will assign a text, but in the mean time, feel free to browse articles and take quizzes of your choice! Click Browse Content on the middle-top of the page to get started without signing in.

DOGO

DOGO is a website with news for students to read. Students can also explore science articles too! Jump into the site and explore!

National Geographic for Kids

Look at amazing images of animals, space, and others while reading up on them.
Make sure you check out the NEWS tab to see what new discoverings are being found!

Want a little bit of math fun? Check out Math Playground! There are activities, worksheets, and lots of math practice! Check out the arcade for basic math fluency.

Funbrain

Want a little bit of reading and math? Click on Funbrain and that is what you will get! You can even read part of Diary of a Wimpy Kid! You may have to create an account so make sure you ask your family to help you!

Read about famous Asian Americans in history. Each person contributed in some way for the betterment of the world. Read to find out how each Asian American changed the world for the better.
